“My passion for helping children in need led me to seek out training as a Barton tutor.”

Role at Wright Psychology and Learning Center:

Dyslexia Therapy Instructor/Advanced Certified Barton Tutor

Favorite part of the job:

I enjoy watching a student’s confidence grow as they progress through each Barton Level.

Past experience:

I was previously a Service Coordinator with Center Stone (formerly Seven Counties Services), where I worked with children and their families. I first learned of the Barton Reading and Spelling System in 2012 from a tutor who encouraged me to look further into the benefits of the program. My passion for helping children in need led me to seek out training as a Barton tutor.

Why I do what I do:
I believe children with learning differences deserve the opportunity to be just as successful as their peers. Providing the proper instruction allows a student to reach their full potential and gain confidence they will carry for a lifetime.

Favorite Quote:

If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn. (Ignacio Estrada).

Family & free time:

My role at the Wright Psychology & Learning Center has allowed me to continue to work with children while raising my own family. My husband and I have three beautiful children who keep us on our toes!
