Amber Napier, M.S. Ed.   Assessment Coordinator

Role at Wright Psychology and Learning Center:

I am the Assessment Coordinator and Family Support Specialist; I coordinate the assessment process and serve as a resource to our families by providing needed support throughout the entire assessment process and beyond. I ensure our families have all of their questions about the assessment answered, and that they feel prepared and informed during each phase of the process. Once the assessment is completed by the psychologist and results are shared, I work with our families to overcome any barriers to seeking needed care, such as accessing counseling appointments, medication evaluations, and seeking accommodations at school (through IEP or 504 Plans, or through learning plans at a private school).

Past experience:

In 2008, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a specialization in Social

and Behavioral Science from the University of Kentucky and went on to obtain my Masters of

Education in School Counseling from Indiana University Southeast in 2016.

While obtaining my Masters, I was a classroom teacher in grades kindergarten through fourth grade. I also served as an Elementary Professional School Counselor for Jefferson Country Public Schools from 2016 – 2019 before taking time away to pursue other endeavors and raise a young and growing family.

I am so excited for the opportunity to join the amazing team at Wright Psychology and to work closely with each family providing support where I can!

Favorite quote or mantra related to this line of work:

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you’ve said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget the way you made them feel.”

-Maya Angelou

Family & free time:

I enjoy spending time with my husband Alex, and four children (ages 10, 8, 6, and 3) while watching them participate in sports including soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, and everything in between! I am grateful for the time I spent at home with our youngest daughter and am looking forward to returning to work helping families at the Wright Psychology and Learning Center!
